In the first match of World Cup group B Netherlands at Fonte Nova Arena in Salvador demolished the current world champion Spain, 5-1. It was a reprise from the last World Cup finals in South Africa, when Spain 1-0 after extra time celebrated a goal by Andreas Iniesta.
Tiki-taka was ahead with a goal from Xabi Alonso’s penalty in the 27th minute, but Dutch pulled a comeback and smashed even 5 goals to the Spaniards.
Scorers for the ‘Oranje’ were Robin van Persie (44, 72), Arjen Robben (53, 80) and Stefan de Vrij (65).
