Atletico Madrid confirmed the signing of the Croatian forward, Mario Mandzukic from the Bundesliga champion, Bayern Munich.

The Diego Simeone side has officially announced the signing of the 28-year-old striker from Bayern Munich , for a transfer fee of €22 million.

Atletico Madrid have been looking for a forward to replace Diego Costa who left Atletico to join Chelsea, earlier this summer. Meanwhile, The Croatia international has been looking to leave Bayern Munich since Guardiola came. He’s been unhappy because of the new playing style that Guardiola adapted to Bayern, which does not suit to Mandzukic.

Mandzukic passed the medical earlier this week and has now signed a 4 years deal for the Spanish club.

At his first interview as Atletico’s player he hails all his new teammates, his new coach and Atletico’s team style of play.

“I am very happy to be here. I am well aware of Atletico and I know they have good players and a good coach,” said Mandzukic.

“I know a lot about Atletico, I have seen several games and I like the style of play.

“The coach is very good, they have good players, and I think I can do great things with this team.”

Mario Mandzukic joined Bayern Munich at summer 2012. During 2 seasons he scored 48 goals in 88 appearances.
