The FIFA Appeal Committee has rejected Barcelona’s transfer ban appeal, meaning the Catalan giant wont be able to sign any player until 2016., which certainly will be a heavy blow for the Spanish side.

To recall, FIFA has punished Barca in April, due to the transfers of underage players, but the appeal delayed execution of the sentence and the Catalans were able to boost their team with new players during this summer.

Thus, at the Nou Camp two days ago are represented Croatian international Ivan Rakitic, Uruguayan Luis Suarez, Chilean Claudio Bravo, Frenchman Jeremy Mathieu, Germany’s Marc-Andre ter Stegen and Belgian Thomas Vermaelen.

However, Barca wont be able to sign any players in 2015, due to the fact that Fifa’s ban applies to two transfer windows , at winter and at the summer next year.

In addition, Barcelona will have to pay 450,000 Swiss francs to FIFA and in 90-day to control any irregularities related to the transfer of underage players.

Along with Barcelona, FIFA fined the Spanish Football Federation with 500,000 Swiss francs. To the Spanish Football Federation is given a period of one year, within which they need regulate the rules on “signing” foreign underage players in the Spanish teams.
