Juventus have officially made a bid for the 30-year-old Dutch international, Wesley Sneijder. The Galatasary midfielder has constantly been linked with a move to Manchester United, but Juve have reportedly offered Sneijder an 18 month contract, worth €4.5m in total. Galatasaray are said to want a fee in the area of €8m, but Juventus are hoping to lower that figure.

If Sneijder moved to the Italian champions in this window, he would be unable to participate In Champions League matches, due to his involvement in Galatasary’s European campaign.

English clubs Manchester United and Southampton have also shown interest in the attacking midfielder over recent months, with a view to stepping up their interests this month.

The move though is looking increasingly unlikely with Sneijder’s agent claiming Galatasaray are keen to keep the Dutchman in Istanbul.

“The Galatasaray board told me that they won’t sell Sneijder,” insisted Sneijder’s agent, Guido Albers. “Wesley loves Galatasaray and the fans. Both he and his wife Yolanthe want to stay in Istanbul. If there is a club interested him, they have to negotiate with the Galatasaray board, not with me.”

Albers has cast doubt over the move away from Istanbul, but did declare that anything is possible if the release clause is triggered.
