Liverpool are considering a move for Valencia striker, Paco Alcacer, as a way to improve their form in front of goal.

The striker is into the last 18 months of his contract with the Spanish side and talks of an extension have apparently stalled.

A report in talkSPORT has claimed that Liverpool have already held talks with the Valencia striker’s agent over a move to Merseyside in the transfer window, but these reports are not confirmed.

Liverpool have struggled in front of goals this season with star striker, Daniel Sturridge, sidelined by injury since September, and first choice strikers Mario Balotelli and Rickie Lambert misfiring.

The Spaniard has a release clause of £14.1 million, and the Reds would have to meet this fee if they have any chance of landing the 21-year-old.

Alcacer has scored 10 goals in all competition this season and has 4 assists to his name as well.
