Post-match reaction from Maunel Pellegrini and Quique Sanchez Flores after Manchester City came back from a goal down to win 2-1 at Watford in the English Premier League on Saturday (2 January).

Manuel Pellegrini, Manchester City manager:
(Question – Was it satisfying to win away from home after a few months without a victory on the road?)
“Yes. Yes, because maybe we deserved better luck in those six games, but for different reasons we couldn’t win. We had three draws and three defeats, so it was important, especially in the way we won tonight. It’s special, of course, to recover the trust that we can continue having an important season playing away, because we tried to play exactly the way we do at home.”

Quique Sanchez Flores, Watford manager:
(Question – How difficult is that result to stomach?)
“Completely difficult, it’s very hard. It’s very hard because twice in one week (following a similar 2-1 loss to Tottenham) we have the same feeling. It’s difficult to explain to the players, it’s difficult to explain to the fans, it’s difficult to accept, but it’s football. Everything is possible until the last moment. It’s Premier League – everything is possible, but I am really, really proud with the performance of the players. I think we played really, really well – one of the best matches in the league, in the competition. So I try to take the positive things, because we were completely competitive against Manchester City.”
