The former Barcelona defender, Eric Abidal say’s that Real Madrid’s best player it’s not Cristiano Ronaldo, but the French striker Karim Benzema.

Abidal believes that Benzema is a complete player and he is very important to Carlo Ancelotti’s side. The ex-Barcelona star also stated that he would have signed his compatriot if he were Barcelona’s coach.

“Benzema is the man I’d sign from Madrid if I were at Barca,” he told Gol TV. “Definitely, because for me he is Madrid’s most important player right now.

Benzema has scored only 20 goals in 41 appearances, meanwhile Cristiano Ronaldo has done the double. Anyway Eric Abidal still believes that Benzema is the most important player for Real Madrid and Los Blancos does better with the French International in the field.

“If you take Benzema away from Real Madrid then they would continue scoring goals, but not as many as they do with Karim in the team. He’s a very complete player and other players well in Madrid when Karim is there.” stated Abidal.

Real Madrid will face Barcelona this week-end and Eric Abidal gave his opinion for El Clasico.

“I think it will finish 3-1 to Barca,” he added. “I think Neymar, Lionel Messi and Luis Suarez will each score, though I’d like Javier Mascherano to get a goal for the club.

The Frenchman hailed Barcelona’s performance lately and stated that they’re doing much better than at the start of the season. Abidal also praised Suarez for his performances lately after struggling to adopt at the start of the season.
