Arsenal are closing in on the signing of Mohamed Elneny from the Swiss side, Basel FC, according to the latest reports from Egypt. Even Gunners boss Arsene Wenger hinted on a possible move during the post match interview, after the last round 1-0 win over Newcastle United.

According to the last reports, Mohamed Elneny has already done his medical and the personal terms with Arsenal are agreed, the only thing left is that Mohamed Elneny receives a work permit, and Arsenal will sign the 23-year-old Egyptian international midfielder.

Mohamed Elneny began his career as a youth with El Ahly before turning senior with El Mokawloon in 2010. In 2013 he moved to Basel and since then he has made over 100 appearances, scoring seven goals during that time, while for the national team of Egypt he has made 36 appearances.
