Siena’s relegation worries increased this afternoon as Pablo Osvaldo’s hat-trick helped European hopefuls Roma to an emphatic Serie A victory at the Stadio Olimpico.
The game started as it would go on, which is to say Roma were in total control. It only took 14 minutes for Pablo Osvaldo to open the scoring, after he interchanged beautifully with Erik Lamela before chipping the ball over the top of Gianluca Pegolo.
It seemed like the goal would open the floodgates, as it was only three minutes before Roma’s lead was doubled, and it was a second excellent goal. Francesco Totti played a perfectly-weighted lob met in the area by Lamela, with the Argentine’s low volley flashing into the bottom corner.
Some great strength from Alessandro Florenzi down the left saw him pull a low cross back into the area for Osvaldo, who rifled a shot in at the near post for 3-0.
