A 29-year-old midfield got a good career on his shoulders, as he started on his homeland with River Plate, where he has been under Diego Simeone management for 1 season. After that he was looking for a European experience and joined St Etienne on summer 2009 but returned to Argentina after having a poor season. Diego Simeone has requested the signing of Augusto Fernandez after one of his key players , Thiago was injured on October. Atletico was also interested on signing Ac Milan star, Giacomo Bonaventura but apparently the italian club has refused to sell him. Alongside Augusto , another Argentine star is expected to join Atletico Madrid. Matías Kranevitter, 22 years old has arrived to Spain on Tuesday and is expected to start training soon.
