Barcelona at the Camp Nou with a 2:1 defeated Las Palmas in the 6th round of the Spanish La Liga. But the victory was overshadowed by Lionel Messi’s injury who already in the 10th minute left the field.

Messi was injured, already in the 3rd minute after a collision with a player of Las Palmas, Daniel Castellani. He tried to continue, but in the end he was replaced six minutes later.

“The first medical reports suggest that Messi broke the internal ligament of the left knee. According to the first news, Messi will be absent from seven to eight weeks,” reported Barcelona.

This means that Messi’s appearance in this year’s first ‘El Clasico’ against Real Madrid which will be played on November 21 at the Santiago Bernabeu is highly doubtful.

Against Las Palmas scorer of both goals for Barcelona was Luis Suarez (25′, 54′). Neymar is 66th minute missed a penalty after Alcaraz’ handball in the penalty area. Jonathan Viera before the end, in the 88th minute reduced the score for the final 2: 1.

Real Madrid in the later match at their Santiago Bernabeu failed to grab three points as Malaga prove to be a tough team to beat this Saturday, and the game ended without any goals.
