Italian champions Juventus prepared in Glasgow on Monday (11 February) for the first leg in their UEFA Champions League last 16 tie against Celtic.

Antonio Conte, Juventus head coach:
“We have great respect for Celtic. Celtic are returning to the top level, the Champions League, like us. This season we are an “outsider” because we haven’t taken part and challenged in the Champions League for a long time. So we’re like Celtic as outsiders, and like Celtic we want to go as far as possible in the competition.”

Gianluigi Buffon, Juventus goalkeeper:
“I played Celtic Park two or three times with Parma and with Juventus. I watched from the bench when Juventus played here in the Champions League as it was the last game of the group. However, it’s a typically British atmosphere that we know well and are expecting. But, up until today a supporter in the stands has never scored a goal for their team, so hopefully that won’t happen against us.”

Antonio Conte, Juventus head coach:
“The Champions League is a dream for us. A dream that we must take game by game because of how tough the knockout stages are. The objective of this dream is to reach the final. We know it’ll be difficult against a team like Celtic. We don’t have particular expectations, but we also haven’t put limits on ourselves.”
