Chelsea are set to sign Fiorentina forward Juan Cuadrado after agreeing fee for the Colombian star. Jose Mourinho looks set to sign Cuadrado before 31st of January.
Chelsea will fund the fee from selling unsettled Andre Schurrle, who is on his way to Wolfsburg for a fee of £30m.
Chelsea boss is hoping Cuadrado is signed before Saturday, so the forward is able to face Manchester City in a title thriller game at Stamford Bridge.
That Cuardado deal is a done deal confirms and Fiorentina’s manager Montella :
“Obviously as a coach I’m sorry for Cuadrado’s transfer but Fiorentina have done the right thing. If Juan has cost so much it is because he’s worth it, meanwhile Salah comes to us,” the Fiorentina boss told reporters.
“We’ll see how long it will take for Salah to be integrated. Technically he’s similar to Cuadrado but he cannot do the defensive side, though he is still a great player.”
Whereas, Costa will find his fate on Friday weather or not he will serve a ban which will keep him out of Saturday’s game. Also, Chelsea are eager to find out if Fabregas recovers in time from his hamstring injury he got from Tuesday’s win against Liverpool. Fabregas yesterday trained alone from the first team and Chelsea will until the last-minute for Fabregas to start against City. The Spaniard has been vital for Chelsea’s success after Blues legend Frank Lampard departed Stamford Bridge. Frank Lampard will return to the Bridge for the first time since he left.
With Juan signing, Jose is clearly looking to strengthen his squad and win the title this season with Chelsea. Juan Cuadrado will add his attacking style to Chelsea’s creativity.
