The defending World Cup champions Spain after losing their second group match to Chile 2-0 , were eliminated from the World Cup in Brazil. Del Bosque’s men after shocking 5-1 opening defeat to Netherlands so repeated the World Cup 1994 when they lost both opening games.
Barca winger Alexis Sanchez has took advantage of Xabi Alonso poor pass, exchanges a one-two with Vidal who finds Eduardo Vargas who scores an opener. Ahead of the end of the first half, Alexis Sanchez takes a free kick towards Spain goal , Casillas makes another mistake by punching the ball straight into the path of Charles Aranguiz who raise the score and makes it 2-0 for Chile. Until the end of the game both teams had their chances to score , but the half time result remained the same, and so Chile eliminated the World and European defending champion !
In the same group earlier have played Netherland who were better against Australia with 3-2 and so Chile and Dutch have secured their place into the next stage of World Cup competition. In the last round match will play Australia and Spain, and Netherlands vs Chile, and that match will decide the first placed team in the group.
