Liverpool are one of England’s most successful clubs, having won 18 league titles, seven FA Cup triumphs and five Champions League final victories. Time and time again, the Reds have produced incredible performances to defy the odds and win football matches – none more so than in the memorable 2005 Champions League final against AC Milan.

In recent years, however, Liverpool have struggled to inspire confidence. They are no longer classed as one of England’s elite clubs and still haven’t managed to win the title during the Premier League era. They came close under Rafael Benitez, then even closer under Brendan Rodgers and now Jurgen Klopp is about to have his turn at trying to guide Liverpool to Premier League glory.

The Reds won’t challenge for the title this season but they are more than capable of winning the crown in the near future. Klopp is a sensational manager and he showed plenty of nous and intelligence during his time at Borussia Dortmund. Although it will take some time for the German to fully adapt to the pace and style of England’s top flight, Liverpool are already much improved under Klopp and will fancy their chances of a title push next season.

Once Klopp has the opportunity to invest in the transfer window, we will begin to know more about which Liverpool stars he rates and who he wants to replace. So far, the German has played his cards quite close to his chest and it wouldn’t be a huge surprise if Klopp let four or five players go next summer – especially if three or four players arrive at the club.

Many people will believe Liverpool can win the crown next season and plenty of punters will be tempted to place a bet on Klopp’s men to go all the way. So, is Klopp the man to lead Liverpool to Premier League glory? Absolutely. It may take a few years but the Reds will believe that, under the German’s guidance, they can push for the title. They have an incredibly strong squad but, with a couple of incomings, they will be well set for a genuine title challenge. Who knows, they may even put together a sensational run that sees the Reds form a late charge this season.
