Borussia Dortmund manager Juergen Klopp spoke on Tuesday ahead of their UEFA Champions League semi-final first leg match against Real Madrid and also gave his reaction to Mario Goetze agreeing to join Bundesliga rivals Bayern Munich at the end of the season.

Juergen Klopp, Borussia Dortmund manager (On Mario Götze joining Bayern Munich):
“I was told last night at ten that this would go public. I’ve known about it since the Thursday after the Malaga game, which means I had exactly one day to enjoy the Malaga result. So I was a bit ahead of anybody else knowing, so I can say time doesn’t heal all set-backs, but it definitely helps.”

Juergen Klopp, Borussia Dortmund manager (On Mario Götze joining Bayern Munich):
“He is the player that Pep Guardiola absolutely wanted, that means if anybody is to blame that he has decided to leave, it is me. That said, I can’t shrink fifteen centimetres, learn Spanish, have them play wild switching football, and preach tiki-taka, that is just not possible. Therefore all we can say is that he wants to take the chance to work with that exceptional coach. I find that totally acceptable.”
