Southampton manager Ronald Koeman on Thursday (7th January) confirmed that Sadio Maneand Victor Wanyama are not for sale, whilst also commenting on the future of Pep Guardiola.

Ronald Koeman, Southampton manager:
(On forward Sadio Mane who was dropped to the bench last week at Norwich City after arriving late to a team meeting.)
“If that happened, what happened last week – maybe that’s some stuff for the press to tell and to write and to speak about the situation of Mane. Mane is not a different situation now than it was last week – he’s a player of Southampton, he likes to play for Southampton, he’s not for sale.”

(On suggestion Sadio Mane and Victor Wanyama’s heads might have been ‘turned’ over a move away and their minds are not focussed on their jobs for Southampton.)
“I don’t have doubts about that. And if there is any player thinking if his behaviour is not good that makes it more easier for the player, then I put the player in the stands until the end of the contract because that’s, in my opinion, not that way how you have to do your job as a football player.”

(On current Bayern Munich coach Pep Guardiola who has spoke about managing in England.)
“I know him very well, he’s a very good friend. Yes I have contact to him. I spoke about Premier League with him, and, okay, we will see where he will be managing next season.”
