Leeds won the match with a convincing 4-0, and their manager Simon Grayson dedicated this victory to deceased friend:
– Gary Speed was a fantastic person and I wanted that players to come out on the lawn and play for him. It was very painful as the first goal fell just when the 11-minute singing ended . It was hard, but I am proud that I was a manager tonight. I am delighted to have achieved a result for Gary Speed.
