There has been much speculation in the past weeks over the future of the four-time Ballon d’or winner, Lionel Messi.

Messi fuelled speculation of a move away from the Camp Nou after being left out of the Barcelona starting team to face Real Sociedad. The next day Messi failed to attend an open training session with which Luis Enrique was not happy and later that day he started following Chelsea FC on Instagram, as well as Filipe Luis and Thibaut Courtois.

Bad blood on Messi – Enrique relationship is more than obvious, the Barca Boss admits that. At a special meeting of the Barca board the number 1 talk will me how to salvage all this. Some reports claim that both of them, Messi and Enrique have the same ultimatum “It’s me or him”.

In November Chelsea manager, Jose Mourinho, rejected claims that Chelsea were keen on signing the Argentinian.

Mourinho stated, ‘My reaction is that your world changed so much that our world also changed so much. And I think, in this moment, it’s so easy, so easy to have non-truths circulating.

It’s so easy that some people put news without confirming or speak about rumours. Obviously it’s not true. Obviously it’s not true.’

Daily Star reports that Chelsea are willing to offer Lionel Messi a six-year deal. The Blues are willing to meet his €250m (£200m) buy-out clause and meet his wage demands.

Manchester City are another English side being linked to the Argentinian forward, but a move to Chelsea would seem more likely if the deal went ahead.

Messi hinted last November that he would decide on his future at the end of the current season.
