Liverpool has opened talks with German Champions, FC Bayern Munich for the Swiss winger Xherdan Shaqiri over a 16mln initial bid.

Brendan Rogers side has initially proposed a 16mln for Xherdan Shaqiri to open preliminary talks. Liverpool opened talks after loosing interest in Southampton player Adam Lallana.

The English team also admitted interest in Benfica player Lazar Markovic , but they are keen to spend less at possible.

The 22 years old Swiss arrived in Munich in July 2012 from Basel for €11.6 million transfer fee. Anyway he’s finding it hard to gain a starting XI position at Bayern Munich.

Shaqiri started only 10 games in the last season under Guardiola , so this is the main reason why he want to leave and Liverpool is the most possible destination. He has made 65 apps for Bayern in two seasons , scoring only 15 goals.

Xherdan is actually in international duty with Switzerland at World Cup. He played 90min at the opening game vs Ecuador , where Switzerland won 2-1.
