Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp not despondent after losing the Manchester City in Capital One Cup Final on Sunday (28th February). His side will look to improve when they face the same team in the EPL on Wednesday (2nd March) at Anfield.

Jurgen Klopp, Liverpool manager (on how to react after the League Cup final):

“After the loss you have to show that you are more greedy than before so that’s what we have to show tomorrow.”

“Of course it is not possible to change the history of the game on Wednesday (2nd March). We cannot say ‘if we win this game tomorrow then somebody can give us the Capital One Cup’, it will not be like this. We have to show that we are ready again.

“The difference, especially in this game, was not too big between winning and losing. Yes, we lost in a penalty shootout. But after 90 minutes we had a draw and after 120 minutes we had a draw against one of the best sides in England. Obviously they wanted to win the game too so it was a real final and – yeah – we didn’t shoot the best penalties.”

Sunday’s (28th February) Capital One Cup winners Manchester City face fellow finalists Liverpool again on Wednesday (2nd March) in the EPL. Manager Manuel Pellegrini had this to say about it.

Manchester City manager Manuel Pellegrini:

“Both the teams will arrive with the same hours of resting between one game and the other one, but every time that you win of course it’s more easy to recover soon.”

“Well, maybe not 100 percent similar, but in that season we had three games in our hand – that were an important amount of points that you were forced to win, that was so important in that season and was the character of the team to win it although then under pressure. Now we have just one game, but in that case if we won all the games we are at the top of the table, in this case we must now wait for the other teams to lose some points.”
