Manchester United boss, Louis van Gaal, labelled his side’s victory over Everton as ‘one of the best matches’.

Louis van Gaal said, ‘It was a very good performance and I have said to my players that I was very proud of them because it is one of our best matches,’ Van Gaal said after goals from Morgan Schneiderlin, Ander Herrera and Wayne Rooney secured a surprisingly routine victory.

‘It is more than a response, that is an understatement, but I cannot find another word. It was very difficult to prepare this match because we have lost against Arsenal in a horrible way.’

Boss on Rooney, ‘You are always doubting him, He scored now. I am very happy for him. For me it is not important if he scores or not scores. ‘Maybe it is the start for many goals because he needs this goal, I think.’

Manchester derby takes place next Sunday with both sides looking excellent in the Premier League. The game will be important for both teams to increase the gap over each other.
