Manuel Pellegrini’s side sit on the first having 2 points more than the 2nd Liverpool. Four wins in a row and two slips of Liverpool have put the Citizens on the top. Now the only thing which remain is that the Manchester Blue side at least takes a draw against Allardyce’s side who will enter this game relaxed since they secure the EPL place for the next season after winning 40 points with which they sit on the 12th.
“It’s been a tough season – we’ve not quite got what we deserved with the injuries we’ve had but now we’re 12th in the league,” Midfielder Mark Noble told reporters. “We’ve done well to get out of the position we were in at Christmas and that’s credit to the lads.
Now, Allardyce wants to pull an upset at the Eithad and take the title to Liverpool who still have to beat Newcastle .
Difficult task to stop City winning the league – Allardyce
West Ham manager Sam Allardyce says his team are determined to ensure that Manchester City don’t win the title easily.
City face the Hammers at Maine Road on Sunday knowing even a draw will mean that they have taken their second Premier League title in three years.
Neutrals want Liverpool to win the title – Allardyce
Manchester City main target this season, the Epl title, is very close, but it’s not safe still, which right-back Pablo Zabaleta told the club’s official website. “”Nothing is done and we can’t expect an easy game on Sunday”. Speaking of the visiting team, Zabalata knows that Hammers have what it takes to surprise anyone , especially since they will play relaxed.
“They are safe but they have very good players. They are very good on the counterattack and are very tough also on set-pieces.
“Hopefully on Sunday we can play well and get three points, even though we know a draw is enough, I think we must play to win the game.”
I’ve always told City one point will decide the title – Pellegrini
With a massively superior goal difference over second-placed Liverpool, Manchester City effectively need only a draw from their final game of the season against West Ham to clinch a second league crown in three years.
Pellegrini expecting to beat West Ham
Manchester City thanks to Sergio Aguero back in 2012, won the league title after a come back of 3-2, but for this game Aguero remains sidelined after sustaining a groin injury. Defender Nastasić from before is injured, so Pellegrini will start with Edin Dzeko who plays currently in a superb form.
The last four mutual games, Citizens have won , while in the last one (away) Pellegrini’s side entered a 3-0 win. As for the Hammers, Andy Carroll will be ready, while defender O’Brien and striker Vaz Te remain sidelined.
