Shaken Premier league current champions, welcome the Champions league champion at the Old Trafford aiming to save their season which is really poor for the club of that reputation. United fall out from all combinations of winning the league title, while even the Champions league spot for the next season is pure science fiction. As a consoling prize, United could check the Europa league spot, but even that will be hard task for them. So the Moyes’ players will try do their best against Bayern Munich to save the season.
Certainly it wont be an easy task, since they are underdogs in this game against the superb German side who yet has to lose first game. Last weekends win 4-1 over Aston Villa gave Moyes some hopes that his troops can surprise Bayern Munich, but without their first striker Robin van Persie who is still injured, chances of that are very slim.
On the other side, the German club have already clinched the league title with a 2-1 win over Hertha, but the perfect run was some what ruined with a 3-3 home draw against Hoffenheim last weekend. Still, a fact that Bayern Munich under Pep Guardiola have not lost a single game in Bundesliga is more than an impressive. In the last game, Guardiola rested few players, giving them time to prepare for the Old Trafford game.
Except above already mentioned RvP, Moyes cant count on Chris Smalling (hamstring), Rafael (knock) and Antonio Valencia (knee), while Patrice Evra is suspended as well as Bayern’s Dante . Guardiola also can’t count on defender Badstuber and midfielder Alcantara due to injuries.
