Arsene Wenger, Arsenal manager (Q: What are your thoughts on the upcoming game against Southampton?):
“Look they gave us a tough time, a rough time at Southampton and we have an opportunity at home to put that right. It’s a very important period in the season now because it goes into big, big games. Fifteen games to go, every game now becomes really important and we come out of a bad result in the Premier League against Chelsea and we want to take advantage of the fact that we play at home.”

(Q: John Terry is leaving Chelsea how difficult for a club to decide when to move on, loyalty works two ways?):
“The loyalty works two ways, but I always consider that I am paid for my commitment to the club, well paid, and once it is over the club owes me nothing and I have to get on with my life and find another way and do not expect a reward, because it is part of the contract.”

Arsenal manager (On John Terry):
“He was a real leader and he had a great career as well, let’s not forget that and that’s never a coincidence. And the guys that last such a long time, they have something special and he was as well the symbol of the cohesion inside Chelsea’s club, because him, (Frank) Lampard, (Didier) Drogba, (Petr) Cech, for long periods were the players that carried the values and when you lose players like that you always are in danger.”

Arsene Wenger, Arsenal manager (Q: Are you one hundred per cent certain you won’t be making any signings before this transfer window shuts?):
“One hundred per cent is difficult to say, ninety-nine yes. You leave always, a miracle can happen, somebody can knock at your door and if (Lionel) Messi knocks at my door at ten to six tonight I will not say ‘please go back to Barcelona!’.”

Ronald Koeman
“They will be very prepared because they know we’ve played four times against Arsenal and won twice at home. We won the League Cup at the Arsenal stadium and then we lost in the last second by 1-0 when we played with ten players. That’s difficult for them and they know it’s difficult to beat Southampton. We have a good record when we play against the big teams and we’d like to keep that.”

Ronald Koeman, Southampton manager (on late transfer deals):

“We did our job and I think if you have to do your job or your business until today then in my opinion you are nervous or you don’t know what you have to do because in my opinion that’s a little bit late.”

Ronald Koeman, Southampton manager (on bringing in Charlie Austin):

“No we did our business, what we’d like to do and there’s no disappointment because we spoke about in the January transfer window to get a striker in. It was fantastic business to bring Charlie (Austin) in and keep the rest of the squad.”
