Luis Enrique believes Leicester City’s surprise place at the top of the English Premier League this season, is good for football. Enrique – whose Barcelona side face Sevilla on Sunday – says the midlands’ club’s success so far has made for an exciting title race.

Luis Enrique, Barcelona head coach:
(on Leicester’s success in the English Premier League this season)
“It is a wonderful surprise. This year you can see there is less distance between the teams that usually fight to win the competition. Added to a few surprises such as Leicester and Tottenham. I think this is very good for football. We will wait and see whether they are capable of coping with the pressure when they have to win key points. Both the English and the Italian competitions look very open this season.”

(on Sevilla)
“We face this game (against Sevilla) as any other league game against a team that belongs to the group of teams at the top end of the table. It will be a very demanding game. They are a team that has improved a lot since that first league game this season when they were in a delicate situation. Now they are at the high end of the table and also doing well in European competitions. They are a team we know very well – very compact and well developed with a coach that has very clear ideas. A very tough rival.”
:
(on not taking Sevilla for granted)
“I think it is a mistake to think that because of the points we have as an advantage in the league. I will take this competition in a different way. What has made us reach to where we are now is that we have been able to play a game every three days at top level. I even think we deserve this. We must maintain or better this level. We can see that we enjoy doing what we do.”
