Bournemouth 0-2 Arsenal Highlights: Özil opens, Oxlade-Chamberlain seals Gunners Win

Match Highlights

Post Match Video Interview

Eddie Howe, Bournemouth manager:
(On the game.)
“They dominated possession. We found it really hard to get really good pressure on the ball, which is unlike us I’d say. Credit to them for the players they have and the way they keep the ball, scored two goals on the back of that. From that point I felt we reacted very, very well and the second half we dominated. So it’s just really the early stages of the game that I was disappointed with.”

(On challenge by Arsenal’s Mathieu Flamini on Dan Gosling in ninth minute.)
“I had a very good view, I though it was two-footed. That type of tackle in the game has been outlawed, you know. You can’t do it. And for me it was a pretty simple decision really – it was a straight red card. It would have had a huge bearing on the game and I was surprised when the referee only produced a yellow.”

Arsene Wenger, Arsenal manager:
(On the game.)
“I felt that we had a strong start and were 2-0 in front with a good, convincing performance. And after that, in the second half we had weak and strong periods and we suffered a bit more, and it was important for us not to concede a goal. And at the end, the second half was more about keeping the result than about continuing our flow in the game. But it was an important three points for us.”

“We had four games without a win – when you play at the top that’s a long period, so your confidence drops a little bit. And (two), Leicester running away and us playing them next week, to make the game interesting it was very important for us to win today.”
SOUNDBITE: (English) Arsene Wenger, Arsenal manager:(On the title race.)
“There’s still a very long way to go. I agree with you that Leicester now is a favourite, but we have a big game at home against them and I believe we have enough quality and nerves to deal with that.”
