Post Match Video Interview

Reaction from Guus Hiddink and Mark Hughes after Chelsea and Stoke City drew 1-1 in the English Premier League on Saturday.

Mark Hughes, Stoke City manager (on game)
“Well we got a point, arguably we feel a little bit hard done by. We probably felt we had good opportunities, certainly in the first half we had two or three really good opportunities. We didn’t convert, unfortunately, and then lo and behold we get done with the sucker punch against the run of play. They get the first goal just before half-time and when that happens, sometimes you can be a little bit deflated from that but, in fairness, it was the complete opposite reaction.”

(on Gianelli Imbula)
“Every time he plays, I mean, he drives with the ball, he’s technically very very good, very comfortable in possession of the ball and when he gets in his stride he just leaves people in his wake. At times there were three or four Chelsea players trying to catch him up and he was just going past them all so we’ve got a really good acquisition there. We’re really pleased with what he’s produced in only a short space of time – he’s only been with us three or four weeks and he continues to impress us every day in training as well”

Guus Hiddink, Chelsea interim manager (on game)
“Yeah, of course, frustrated because we conceded the late goal. That’s always frustrating. But you can say that we started rather sloppy the first half and after 15, 20 minutes we got more energetic, more composure. We scored a beautiful goal through (Bertrand) Traore and the second half I think there was one key moment that the penalty was not awarded on Oscar. If you see it, it was a clear clear clear penalty – I’m not often saying that. But it would have been given a free-kick when it was outside the box but it was waved away. I think it was a key moment but we must not say that Stoke was not pushing. They got encouraged by that and they have some very creative players in their attacking part of the team so at the end I think it was a fair result.”
