“I’m always a little worried when a player is injured, but no more than I should be. We’re working on Gareth Bale’s injury and I think he’s feeling better every day. I won’t say now that he’ll be training with the group next week because I said that last week and it has turned to be an issue that is taking him a bit longer. But let’s keep calm about it. We want him to be at 100 per cent.”

“Athletic Bilbao are a very strong, opponent. They’re a very good squad. We know who we are playing against. And Aritz Aduriz is a very important player for them, especially in set pieces. He’s 35 years old, but he doesn’t look that age.”

Zidane (asked why is it so much harder for Real to play away from home)
“It is actually a bit harder for us away than when we play at home. We have scored five and six goals at home, but we can’t think this is how it’s always going to be. Well, if I win 1-0 I’ll be happy too. What I mean is that matches are not always the same, they are never the same. So what we need to do now is give our best and prepare for the match against Roma (in the Champions League.)”
