Arsenal have completed the signing of Chelsea goalkeeper Petr Cech and the Gunners splashed £11 million (€15.5m) for his service.

The Czech goalkeeper and the Blues legend was rumoured to be Arsenal’s target already last season, when Courtais joined the Premier league side from his loan at Atletico Madrid.

Although Jose Mourinho usually doesn’t sell players to his direct competitors, this time he made an exception for a long-term loyalty and because of all that Cech gave to Chelsea.

Whilst Cech was the first goalkeeper at Chelsea the Blues have won four league titles, four FA Cup, three League Cup and the Champions League in 2012, where, with Didier Drogba, Cech was the hero of the final against Bayern Munich.

The 33-year-old Petr Cech has completed his medical on Friday and has signed a £100,000-a-week contract (€140,000) with Arsenal, salaray which immediately made him as one of the club’s highest earners alongside Mesut Ozil and Alexis Sanchez.

It remains to be seen who from the other two goalkeepers Ospina and Wojciech Szczęsny will leave the Emirates.
