Now its official, Chelsea appointed the Italian Antonio Conte as their new head coach for the next 3 seasons, starting after EURO 2016.The 46 years old is currently managing the Italian national team, as the EURO 2016 take place at France this summer , starting from 10th of July.

The current Chelsea’s head coach, Guus Hiddink will remain at the club until the summer.Since Mourinho got sacked, the blues under Hiddink got an impressive run as they’ve gone 16 games without defeat.

Antonio Conte, who has been accused of “sporting fraud” has said that he was happy to join Chelsea after a pleasing experience with the national team.

“I am proud to be the coach of the national team of my country and only a role as attractive as manager of Chelsea could follow that,” said the Italian.

The 46 years old joins as the 5th Italian head coach to manage the Blues after Gianluca Vialli, Claudio Ranieri, Carlo Ancelotti and Roberto di Matteo [who managed to earn the first Champions League trophy for the club].

Chelsea’s club director Marina Granovskaia have stated that the Blues are happy to have appointed Antonio Conte for the next season, as they rate him as one of the best coaches in the world.

“We are very pleased to have recruited one of the most highly regarded managers in world football,” said club director Marina Granovskaia.”We are equally pleased to do so before the end of the current season. This aids our future planning.”

Manchester City former manager, Roberto Mancini admits that Conte may have some problems at the Premier League, as it is a completely different story from Italian football.

“It is difficult when a manager changes championships,” Said Mancini. “It is important that he knows the league very well and very quickly. Probably he could have some problems at the start of his job.”

Conte, who won 3 consecutive Serie A titles during his reign at Juventus , has the task to rebuild a team to challenge for the Premier League title, also to return to the European football , and probably this season the Blues wont manage to finish on Top 4 this season.

Antonio Conte, who as player has managed to win 5 Serie A titles and a Champions League with Juventus has set some records in Italian football as a coach. With his Juve side, the italian manager has the highest win ratio as in 114 games he managed to lose only seven. His Juventus also managed to score in 44 consecutive games and won the title with 33 victories and 102 points – all records in Serie A.
