“Rafa Benítez is the new manager of Napoli. A man of great international experience. A leader”, was the official announcement from Club president, Aurelio De Laurentiis, on twitter regarding the appointment of his team’s new coach.
The Spaniard, Benitez won the Europa League trophy this season with Chelsea after previously stepping in for Roberto Di Matteo. Benitez in Napoli inherited Mazzarri, who left the Partenopei to join Inter Milan call after coach Andrea Stramaccioni was sacked due to a disappointing ninth-place finish in Serie A.
To recall,Rafa Benitez has coached in Italy before,and it was Inter Milan, but that job was unsuccessful and lasted only six months.
