The Premier league club Southampton confirmed that their new manager will a former Dutch national team player Ronald Koeman (51).

Koeman last three seasons led the Dutch giant Feyenoord where he affirmed a large number of young players and on the bench of Southampton Koeman will inherit the Argentine coach Mauricio Pochettino, who has decided to pursue a coaching career at Tottenham Hotspur.

Last season, under the leadership of Koeman, Feyenoord finished their season on the second place in the Dutch Eredivisie, behind Ajax, and was the most goal scoring team of the league.

Before Feyenoord, Koeman led Ajax, Benfica, PSV Eindhoven, Valencia and AZ Alkmaar.

Southampton last season finished on the eighth place of the Premier League.

Ronald Koeman was announced as the new Southampton manager on Monday (16th June) afternoon.
