Russian billionaire Dmitry Ribolovjev bought a majority stake in the French second division football Monacothereby has saved the famous club from ruin.
French club announced that it will Ribolovjev, 93 on the Forbes list of richest people in the world in the next four years to invest at least EUR 100 million into seven-time French champion. Russian has signed a contract acquired 66.67 per cent stake in Monaco.
“I am a passionate football fan. I live in Monaco for so long that I realized that this club is a symbol of pride and tradition. I think this team has great potential and I hope the same can be realized in the domestic championship, but also Europe,” said Russian billionaire
