Swiss midfielder, Xherdan Shaqiri, is edging closer to a move to Merseyside this window, as reports from the Daily Star claim a £10 million deal has been struck between the two clubs.

Liverpool have faced opposition from Inter Milan, Manchester United and Arsenal for the Bayern winger, but the former Basel star looks set for a move to Liverpool FC.

Shaqiri is well liked by Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers, but there is talk suggesting Rodgers is not willing to spend in the current transfer window and is hoping to hold off the deal until the summer.

Inter have reportedly offered £2 million for a loan deal, bringing the winger to Milan for the remainder of the season, but Bayern want to sell Shaqiri outright in the current window.

Shaqiri’s agent and brother, Erdin wants to see if the Munich side will accept a loan deal to Inter, with the prospect of joining Liverpool in the summer.

Bayern are currently on winter break, but a decision on the player’s future is set to be made after Wednesday’s meeting in Munich.
