Already at the start of the eighth round of the English Premier league we have a big derby match, between city rivals from London, Tottenham and Chelsea. Certainly additional charm to this match adds the fact that at this point, the “Blues” hold the leading position on the table, while Spurs have five points less and they are on fifth place.
And when we add that the current Spurs manager is Chelsea´s former,than it is clear why this match will be so interested to watch.
Anyway, last season both their league matches ended without a winner, but Chelsea in the season finale has managed to celebrate with even 5:1 in the FA Cup semi-final.
Tottenham Spurs after the first three rounds which they played really bad and have won only two points,improved their form have won four matches in a row,from which certainly the biggest one was the last one at Old Trafford against Manchester United.
Twelve points from 4 matches brought them a big improvement on the table, and they have already reached duo from Manchester (one point less), while only the leading Chelsea is on gap of five points, so that will certainly be an additional motive for Spurs players in this Saturday’s match.
Otherwise, in the third round of the Carling Cup, they celebrated with a 3:0 on an away game at Carlisle, while in the Europa League in the first two rounds were still somewhat restrained,by playing two draws,one at home against Lazio and in Greece against Panathinaikos.
However, it should be noted that the Spurs in these three matches played with mixed team, so their main stars had extra time to rest, (except the players who played on the last week´s international matches)which is very important for Villas-Boas before this very important match with Chelsea.
As for the absences, outside of the team are still injured defenders Assou-Ekotto, Kaboul and midfielder Parker, while still recovering Adebayor should remain on the bench, along with Huddlestone.

Unlike the Spurs, Chelsea with much more ambitions has entered this season´s Premier league competition, so in the first three rounds they achieve the same number of wins, but then on an away game against QPR, they drew,playing only 0:0.
However,in the following of the league they were again up to the task, by enrolling another three victories, where the last one was against Norwich City 4-1 at home,which have only further strengthened their leading position.
It should be noted that after the Champions League match where they drew with Juventus in the second round Chelsea came to a routine triumph on a guest appearance at the Danish Nordsjaelland, while in the second round of the Carling Cup at home against second division club Wolverhampton they entered a new high victory of even 6:0.
Let us add here that this season they suffered two defeats, in the Supercup of England by Manchester City and in the UEFA Supercup from Atletico Madrid, so that they have already lost the battle for the two trophies and will certainly do their best to at least keep the winning mentality in the Premier league.
However, at the White Hart Lane they definitely will not have easy task, especially as a coach Di Matteo has a lot of problems with the game in defense, and for this match he will not be able to count on captain Terry, because he is banned with a four matches, imposed by the English FA over racism.Ramires and Marko Marin are questionable,but the Brazilian probably will start this match.
