Swansea City have sacked manager Garry Monk after winning just one of their last 11 Premier League matches.

Swansea City have sacked manager Garry Monk after just one win in eleven Premier League matches.

Chairman, Huw Jenkins says the decision has been made very reluctantly and with a heavy heart.

“To find ourselves in our current situation from where we were in the first week of September, and considering the drop of performance levels and run of results over the last three months, it has brought us to this unfortunate decision today.”

It brings to an end Monk’s 11 years at the club, first as a defender and then manager since replacing Michael Laudrup in February last year.

He went on to guide them to their second highest ever league finish last season.

Bookmakers have former manager Brendan Rodgers as their favourite to take over.
