Diego Simeone, Atletico Madrid head coach:

“We’re only thinking about what we are about to experience, about what’s at stake, about the great chance this is for us. Bearing all that in mind, tomorrow we’ll be there to play. Today it´s normal and logical to speak and position oneself on one side or another, especially for the media, but we’re here to compete and we´re focused on one single thing: to win.”

“The rivals have a coach and players who have many different styles and options within their own game and that makes Bayern Munich even better. But wars are not won by those who have more soldiers but by those who use them better.”

Pep Guardiola, Bayern Munich coach:

“The greatest award Atletico de Madrid have achieved in the last few years is being compared equally to Barcelona and Real Madrid. That’s the greatest award Diego Simeone and his people have achieved. When they play against the best of Europe, against Barcelona and Madrid, you don’t know who is the favourite, that’s their greatest improvement. It’s going to be a cool qualifying round, really complicated but fun at the same time. We will obviously try to play good games to get to play the final.”

“I’m very lucky to experience what I have experienced in Germany during the last three years, very lucky. I think I’m a better coach now and a better guy, more calm. I’ve had a really good time. Will we try to make it to the final? Yes, just like we did two years ago playing Real Madrid and last year playing Barcelona. This year it is Atletico.”
