Cristiano Ronaldo as it was expected, has won the Ballon d’Or, France Football award for the best player of the world in 2016. Behind him, the Portuguese footballer, who with Real Madrid won the Champions league trophy, with Portugal Euro 2016, left Lionel Messi and Antoine Griezmann.

With his fourth Ballon d’Or, Ronaldo closed in to Messi who has one more award. Ronaldo was previously named the best in 2008, 2013 and 2014.

“It is a great honor to win the Ballon d’Or. I am delighted. My dream is realized again, for the fourth time. I dedicate the award to my teammates and my team. It’s amazing,” said the 31-year-old Ronaldo.”

Leo Messi finished on the second, Antoine Griezman third, Luis Suarez fourth, Neymar as fifth, Bale 6th.

To Recall, France Football and FIFA unlike in the last six years, have split awards and FIFA will announce the winner of its Best Player in January.
