+Fortuna Dusseldorf is far from the glory days, but the 120th birthday of the club their fans celebrated on the spectacular way, most likely using an idea of the historical celebration of Hajduk Split’s 100th anniversery, four years ago.

Supporters of Fortuna Dusseldorf on Monday evening in Düsseldorf made celebration to remember, firing up 120 flares alongside the river, Rhine and creating quite a spectacle.

Impressive scenes of Rhine on fire from Düsseldorf have traveled the world, and a number of German and other media reminded on the greatest successes of the club which currently sits on the 7th place of the German second league.

The last time Fortuna Dusseldorf played in the top German competition, Bundesliga, was back in the season 2012/13, and the biggest club success was in 1933 when the club have lifted the league title, while back in 1979 the club reached the European Cup Winners’ Cup final, losing the same to Barcelona 4-3 in extra time.
