Brazil beat Colombia 2-1 and secured the World Cup semi-finals where they will play against Germany on July 8 in Belo Horizonte.

The defense brought the semifinal to the Samba Kings as the most expensive defensive duo in world, Thiago Silva and David Luiz, scored both goals for the triumph of Brazil that played the best match so far in this World Cup.

Brazil first goal scored already in the 7th minute. Neymar took the corner kick , sent the ball on to second goal post, where Thiago Silva was practically alone. PSG defender with his knee sends the ball past Ospina for a 1-0 lead.

The 68th minute brought two goals, but only one goal was allowed. Colombia scored a leveler but the referee disallowed that goal due to doubtful offside position. In the next Brazil attack , the referee awards doubtful free kick, David Luiz steps in to take it, and scores a stunner Golazo for a 2-0 lead. Ten minutes later, Colombia have manage to reduce the score. Sevilla striker was fouled by Cesar inside the penalty box.

James Rodriguez decided to take a penalty , he tricks Cesar and smashed the ball to the left. Until the end Colombia had a few more chances but they failed to score and the result remained 2-1. Brazil secured the semi-finals clash with Germany, but the bad news for the South American side is that they will be without their captain, Thiago Silva (yellow cards suspension) and their first star, Neymar Junior who has suffered an injury, and probably will be out of the World Cup due to fractured vertebra.
