The most dramatic Italian transfer is a departure of the Brazilian international Hernanes (28) from Lazio to Inter Milan for £16.4m.

Witnesses said that when he was told the news Hernanes was in tears, he left the training camp of the Roman club. After the news spread out, midfielder opted for Urbi et Orbi move via Facebook: “I’m going to Inter in order to continue developing myself as the play. It is my personal choice. ”

Inter and Lazio have reached an agreement about Hernanes’ deal for an initial fee in the region of €18 million (£14.8m), potentially rising to €20m (£16.4m) depending on performance related bonuses Goal.com reports. Hernanes signed a contract until the summer 2018, with the annual salary of €2.8m (£2.3m).

The 28-year-old Brazilian said: “I’m not leaving Lazio for money, my wife Erika knows the truth.
“Now I’ve made my choice. I would like to say thanks to all of you, the president, my team-mates and all the supporters.

“In my life I always tried to do my best, now I have the feeling it’s time to make a change. It has been a hard night, I didn’t sleep at all. I knew the supporters loved me, I couldn’t imagine they did so much. I’ll keep them in my heart”.
