Reputable Gazzetta dello Sport claims that Liverpool seriously want to bring the 21-year-old Croatian national team player Mateo Kovacic and that the Reds have already submitted two offers for Kovacic.

Italians claim that Liverpool for Kovacic first offered 10, and then 8 million euros more, but Inter refused both offers. Roberto Mancini has nothing against selling Kovacic, but believes that the offer of Liverpool is too small.

According to Gazzetta dello Sport, Inter will accept an offer of 25 millions, and it seems that Liverpool is willing to increase its offer. Spanish media recently claimed that even the new La Liga winner, Barcelona FC are keen to sign Mateo Kovacic, but a transfer ban could be a problem for the Catalans.

Manager of the ‘Reds’ Brendan Rodgers sees Croatian midfielder as an ideal replacement for captain Steven Gerrard who is leaving Anfield and British media suggest that Liverpool’s first option for Gerrard’s replacement is Kovacic.

In summer 2013, Kovacic joined the Italian side from GNK Dinamo Zagreb in a transfer deal worth €15 million and in the past 12 months he drawn attention to himself with some good games for Inter in Serie A, so it remains to be seen, will he remain at the San Siro and after the summer, despite signing a new contract recently.

A sign that Kovacic could leave Inter is a fact that Mancini is not s big fan of Kovacic and that he would want to invest money of Kovacic’s transfer into more experience players with Man City’s Yaya Toure on the top of his wish-list.
