The managers speak after Arsenal scored in the 95th minute to beat leaders Leicester City 2-1 in the English Premier League on Sunday (14 February).
Arsene Wenger, Arsenal manager:

“A loss today would have been massive, yes.

“We are conscious that we have some big games to come up, and it’s down to how much can you put that kind of energy into every game.

“When I say we were unlucky at half-time to be one-nil down because I thought it was a free kick on [Mesut] Ozil at the edge of the box, and I thought ‘oh, that’s a good opportunity for us to score just before half-time’… and then a minute later we are one-nil down on a penalty that for me was not obvious at all. So that was a big mental hurdle for the team because we were under shock at half-time.”

Claudio Ranieri, Leicester City manager:

“If I think about the match I’m very, very angry.

“Sometimes the referee stops the time at 94 – four minutes extra time. That was five minutes extra time when they scored.

“We know we are in the best team in the Premier League because there are so many big teams in Premier League and Arsenal is one of these.

“If you watch the goal there were Welbeck and another along in front of the near post… in that moment you are to kill them – but not to leave them. But they [Leicester’s players] are young… if I was on the pitch I (Ranieri makes biting gesture) them… I put something (Ranieri makes gesture to suggest putting something on his face)…”
