Attacking midfielder has previously been a member of Hoffenheim, while the other half of the season  Sigurdsson has spent on loan at Swansea City, where in 18 appearances he scored seven goals and add five assists.

Former manager of Welsh club Brendan Rodgers, wanted to take with him to Liverpool, but Tottenham was more specific. According to German media, Spurs have paid about  about ten million compesation to Hoffenheim.

Sigurdsson professional career began in Reading, in where in the  season 2009/10 he was declared as the best player. In the summer 2010. Sigurdsson  was sold to Hoffenheimfor 5.2 million euros.
