A good start of the month for Real Madrid after beating Barcelona at Camp Nou, was ruined with a disappointing performance a few days later vs Wolfsburg in Germany. Los Blancos suffered their second defeat under Zinedine Zidane management. Wolfsburg outplayed them thanks to a great performance from Julian Draxler and Rodriguez ft Arnold who scored a goal each.

But, Zidane’s team got back on track this week-end after an impressing win 4-0 vs Eibar, where their main star Cristiano Ronaldo scored his 30th goal in La Liga – a great achievement for the Portuguese since it’s the 6th consecutive season he reaches the quote of 30+ goals. Ronaldo became the first player in La Liga history to reach this achievement.

Real Madrid prepared on Monday (11th April) to take on Wolfsburg in the second leg of their UEFA Champions League quarter-final, which the German club lead 2-0 following a shock win in the first leg.

Real Madrid main stars admitted that the Santiago Bernabeu atmosphere will help them advance in the next stage despite being down to 2 goals. Cristiano Ronaldo was confident as he claimed that Real Madrid will go through the next stage and his side will make a great performance that will please the Los Blancos that will be on the stadium.

“We can win by playing well, with 11 players on the pitch, more players on the bench and the 80.000 people I would love to see fill the stadium supporting the team, because this will give us a tremendous boost.” said the Portuguese striker.

Ronaldo also had some words to say to his fans, looking for the support Tuesday night.

“Tuesday will be a perfect night, it will be magical, with your support us players will give everything on the pitch and we will get through to the next round. ¡Hala Madrid!”

Good news there for Zidane, as he will obtain a fully fit squad since both Benzema and Varane passed their fit tests and are ready to play. James Rodrigues will probably be benched once again, despite having a great performance last match vs Eibar.

On the other side, Wolfsburg star Vierinha remains confident that his team will follow the positive performance in Germany, admitting that scoring the first goal would make their game way easier.

“Would one goal be enough? Yes, but only if we score it first. It is going to be a difficult game,” stated Vierinha.

Wolfsburg did not have a great week-end on Bundesliga, since they drew 1-1 vs Mainz. Dante also had a bad week-end as the central defender got a red card , but anyway the former Bayern Munich defender is expected to start alongside Naldo.
