Bayern Munich midfielder Thiago Alcantara stated that Pep Guardiola is the best coach in football history, also admitting his disappointment after the news following his exit from the Bavarian club at the end of the season.

Pep Guardiola has confirmed last month his departure from Bayern Munich on July when his contracts end, as the Bavarian club has officially named Carlo Ancelotti to replace him.

Thiago, who arrived with Guardiola at Bayern Munich on 2013 has hailed the former Barca manager as the best coach in football’s history.

“All of you know how Pep Guardiola is as a manager.He is the best coach in history,” said the Spanish International. “I came to Bayern with him and I am so grateful as he brought me the opportunity to play at a great club like Bayern.”

The Spanish International has been under Guardiola’s orders on his whole career: at Barcelona and Bayern Munich – and together they’ve won 1 Champions League, 4 La Liga titles, 2 Bundesliga titles and many other trophies.

Thiago admits that Guardiola was the main factor of his decision to leave Barcelona for Bayern Munich, and he stated that he’s grateful to have such opportunity in his career to play with a such great club like Bayern Munich.

“I came to Bayern with him and I am so grateful as he brought me the opportunity to play at a great club like Bayern.”
