Reaction after Liverpool won 4-1 at Manchester City in the English Premier League on Saturday (21st November).

Manuel Pellegrini, Manchester City manager:
“More than angry… it’s unbelievable what performance that we had tonight. Really difficult to understand why we play so bad, not just one name or another name, as a complete team – in defending, attacking, possession, I never seen this team playing the way we did tonight.”

“No, I will not explain the starting eleven. I think that if I had to choose the same starters I’d choose the same starters to play. It’s not one name or another name. It was a complete disaster the whole team.”

“This performance (by City) is not normal. I think you all play as a team, so I think that all (players) must think what will happen in the future. We have an important game on Wednesday. These things sometimes happen in football, to play so bad as we did today, that’s why I don’t want to talk about one name or about one tactical system… it was a complete disaster.”

Jurgen Klopp, Liverpool manager:
“It was very satisfying, if it was the best (performance yet under Klopp) I’m not sure – but I rarely compare games. No, for tonight it was very good, it was not perfect because we can defend better and we can stay better in the game when we have a three-nil lead, all the things. But of course, when you win 4-1 against Man(chester) City then it should be very good. It was very good, it was deserved, was very important… but not more.”
