German international Schürrle left the London club and returned to his homeland where he signed for Wolfsburg. Schürrle with the ‘wolves’ signed a contract for a four and a half years, and Chelsea will receive 30 million euros, making this the third most expensive Bundesliga transfer ever. The top two remain Martinez and Goetze, both signed with Bayern Munich.

VfL Wolfsburg have announced the signing of attacking midfielder Andre Schurrle from Chelsea, who has signed a contract until 2019.

Schürrle, who enrolled 42 appearances for Germany and was a member of ‘ELF’ which won the last World Cup, arrived at Chelsea in 2013 for £18 million from Bayer Leverkusen. Schürrle previously notched up a total of 131 Bundesliga appearances for 1. FSV Mainz 05 and Bayer Leverkusen – scoring 38 goals

Chelsea looking to make some room and with one eye on Financial Fair Play decided to sell Schurrle to Wolfsburg and immediately invested the same money to sign another winger, Juan Cuadrado from AFC Fiorentina.
