French midfielder, Yohan Cabaye, is set for a sensational return to the Premier League in a player-plus-cash deal with fellow Frenchman Moussa Sissoko.
PSG are prepared to step up their interest in Sissoko, despite the £20 million price tag placed by Newcastle United.
Arsenal have also recently shown interest in Sissoko, but PSG are the favourites to land the Frenchman with the swap deal for Cabaye tempting the Magpies. Wenger has also been keeping tabs on Cabaye, a player he believes could solve his issues in defence, but the swap deal looks the favourable option for PSG and Newcastle.
Cabaye has not won over the crowd since his move to Paris last January, and has been demoted to the bench.
One potential problem with the move for Newcastle could be his wage, but Newcastle may be able to offer Cabaye a portion of the money received from Sissoko.
